One of my favourite garden flowers, Nigella blooms from June to August. It is also known as "love-in-a-mist" and "St. Catherine's flower". St. Catherine is the patron saint of chastity, learning and craftsmen who work with a wheel such as potters and spinners. Her 'feast day' is celebrated on 25th November and this flower is dedicated to her. It is a symbol of delicacy and harmony and said to have the power to create strong bonds of love. The bee is a powerful symbol associated with long life, good health and loyalty.
