Floral Notes
This elegant variety of Japanese Anemone is Anemone x hybrida 'Honorine Jobert'. Its pure white flowers light up a shady corner of the garden from August to October. It is said to have been discovered in 1858 by Monsieur Jobert, a French banker, growing amongst a more common pink variety in his garden in Verdun. He was so enchanted with the flower that he named it after his daughter, Honorine (a girl's name that simply means 'honour').
In modern-day floriography, Japanese Anemones are associated with positivity, love and healing. They are also said to have protective qualities.
